Chateau de Thauvenay Version Française English Version
17 hectares of vines situated around the chateau, with a mixture of young and old vines, (the former for their sappiness, the latter for their aromas), planted on the clay and limestone billsides 5 km south/south-east of Sancerre overlooking the Loire river.
These hillsides, formed by the two southern Jurasic faults of sancerre and Thauvenay running north/south, offer three kinfs of soils, including our soil of stony, limestone land.
The important stony density of our hillsides allows a well-balanced and qualitative development of our vines.
To respect the environment and allow the best expression of our region,we work on a sustainable vine growing.
